Jamiat Ullama Islam-Fazl chief Molana Fazlur Rahman while expressing grief over the situation of Lyari, has said that there is lack of confidence between the Federal and the Sindh Governments. He said that the Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan should address the reservations of the Sindh government during his visit to Karachi, ARY news reported on Sunday.
Molana Fazlur Rahman said that both the governments have different opinions on Lyari. Sindh Government says that criminals from slums come to Lyari and commit different kinds of offence there while the Federal Government terms it a linguistic issue. He said that it is also feared that the provincial government can also be a party on this issue and this has forced the people to migrate from the locality.
He said that the Provincial Government thinks that the Federation on the basis of this issue wants to interfere in the province but, the Federal Government has denied this view totally.
Molana Fazlur Rahman said that though the law and order is a provincial matter but, it will be a great challenge for the Government of Sindh to cope with the issue without the support of the Federation.
He demanded the federal Interior Minister to visit Karachi in order to address the concerns of the provincial government and to build up trust between the Federation and the province. For if both the governments remain unable to build up trust in each other then the situation can be worsened in Future not only in Lyari but throughout Karachi.
