Sharif-Singh one-on-one meeting starts in New York
NEW YORK: A one-on-one meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh has begun in New York.
Both the leaders are holding this meeting, which is said to set the tone for the subsequent talks between the two neighbours, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
Sources said that a five-point agenda has been finalized for talks between the leaders of the two neighbouring countries that included Indian involvement in Balochistan unrest, the core issue of Kashmir and the menace of terrorism besides matters relating to peace between the two countries would also come under discussion.
India has refused to hold a joint press conference or the issuance of a joint communiqué after the talks, sources said.
Following Nawaz-Manmohan meeting, talks would be held at the delegation level also. Pakistan delegation comprises of Sartaj Aziz, Khawaja Asif, Ishaq Dar, Tariq Fatemi, Masood Khan and Jalil Abbas Jilani.
The host Manmohan Singh has arranged a buffet breakfast for Nawaz Sharif, where Pakistani and Indian dishes would be served.
