KINSHASA:
The government of the Democratic Republic of Congo and M23 rebels both
announced Monday that peace talks to end fighting in the highly unstable
east have been suspended in Uganda.
"The negotiations
are suspended," said government spokesman Lambert Mende. Roger Lumbala,
a delegate of M23 in Kampala, said there was a "blockage", adding that
the rebels were ready to resume the talks mediated by Uganda.
