Jewellery, cash taken away

GUJRANWALA: Bandits plundered people in many hits here on Saturday.

Two bandits intercepted a couple, Abdul Aziz and his wife, going on a motor bike near Mohallah Alipur and snatched gold ornaments worn by Ms Abdul Aziz including bangles and earring and Rs 10,000 in cash. Sabzi Mandi police are investigating. Two armed bandits stopped a motorcyclist, Ghulam Shabbir, going with his daughter on a motorcycle-rickshaw at GT Road near a marriage hall and snatched gold ornaments and cash and fled away. Ghulam Shabbir had obtained loan from a bank on pledge of ornaments and had got them released on payment of debt and was on way home by a hired rickshaw. Sabzi Mandi police are investigating. Two armed bandits intercepted a motorcyclist, Asam Khan, near Kangniwala Bazaar and snatched his motorcycle GAL 2214 and cash and sped away. Four armed bandits waylaid Younis near Dhulley and snatched Rs 68,000 in cash and a pistol from him. Dhulley police are investigating.

PISTOL SEIZED FORM LITIGANT: A sessions court security staff recovered a pistol from a litigant, Shiraz, during body search at the entry to the court. The accused had come to attend court in a criminal case of Kamoke Police. Security men handed Shiraz over to Civil Lines Police.
