LAHORE: The Shia Ulema Council (SUC) has decided to stage protests on Sunday (November 24) and not tomorrow (Friday) as per the original schedule, announced the SUC spokesman Thursday.
Meanwhile, SUC President Punjab Allama Mazhar Abbas Alvi has accused the government of showing impartiality in conducting the investigation into the tragic Rawalpindi incident.
Addressing a press conference at Lahore Press Club, Allama Mazhar Abbas Alvi said a number of questions are filling the minds of the people in connection with the Rawalpindi mayhem like: who were the people who hurled stones and set property on fire and; why the armed mobs were not controlled.
He said that SUC wants peace and it deems those elements as Pakistan’s enemies who don’t want to see peace in the country.
