‘10,000 held in Karachi targeted operation during three months’

KARACHI: Police on Sunday said almost 10,000 accused had been arrested during the last three months of Karachi targeted operation.

According to the police, during the raids 3,000 weapons of different calibers and 15,000 kg explosive material were also seized.

The police and the Rangers jointly launched an operation in the city September this year after the government’s decision to purge the city of criminals.

IG Sindh police Shahid Nadeem Baloch was told in a briefing that 4849 raids were carried out in different parts of the city during the period of September 5 and December 6.
