LB polls: electioneering ends in Balochistan, polling on Saturday



QUETTA: Election campaign for local bodies elections ended at 12:00 midnight today and the polling will be held on Saturday.

All arrangements have been completed for LB elections 2013 scheduled to be held on Dec 07.

There are 3.2 million registered voters who would cast their votes for 4350 seats while by polls will be held on 503 vacant seats after December 07.

Six million ballot papers have been printed for this purpose.

PML-N, PPP, National Party, BNP, BNP (A), ANP, JUI-F, Tehreek-e-Insaf, Hazara Democratic Party and Mutahidda Qaumi Movement have fielded their candidates.

Several parties have formed All Parties Democratic Alliance. Jamhoori Watan Party and Haq Na Tawar parties have announced boycott of LB polls.

Fifty four thousand 446 security personnel including FC Police and Balochistan constabulary have been deployed for security during LB Polls while Army would remain alert as Quick Response Force.

Pak Army helicopters will also be ready for any situation in sensitive areas.
