PA adopts bill to for minimum wage of Rs9000 for non-skilled workers


LAHORE: Punjab Assembly (PA) has approved a bill to raise the minimum salary of non- skilled workers to Rs9000, Geo News reported.

The session of Punjab Assembly started one-and-a-half hour late in the chair of deputy speaker Sher Ali Gorchani.

It was revealed in the assembly that the government was receiving Rs1.25 billion tax from the sale of liquor in nine hotels of the province.

During the session, the opposition leader was not allowed to move motion over gas load shedding in the province.

The assembly also offered prayers for Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh leader Abdul Qauder Mollah, who was executed on the charges of war crimes in 1971.

Later, the deputy speaker adjourned the session for indefinite period.
