Misbah pats Shafiq's back as Pakistan head off the field, and that too in a truly commanding position. This day has belonged to them entirely, having lost just three wickets, but putting on a lead which now extends to 123 runs going into the third day. The Sri Lankans bowlers have bowled without great discipline or incisiveness, with the spinners in particular being miserly, but not producing the breakthroughs when required. We will be back tomorrow for more action from Abu Dhabi. Hope this first day of the year has gone as well for you as it has for Pakistan. Wishing you all the best for the coming year, and I hope that 2014 is a year of great progress and success. On behalf of the scorer, Binoy George, this is Rohan Sharma signing off.
