Islamabad Police bust eight gangs


The Islamabad Police have busted eight gangs of criminals and arrested dozens of other outlaws who were wanted by police for their alleged involvement in kidnapping for ransom, robbery, car theft and murder cases.

Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) and Anti-Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) of Islamabad Police were assigned various cases for their immediate resolution following which SP (Investigations) Muhammad Ilyas constituted special teams under supervision of DSP CIA Fida Hussain Satti and In-charge ACLC Sub-Inspector Liaquat Ali. These teams started their investigation on scientific lines and succeeded in busting eight gangs of criminals involved in crime cases of heinous nature.

The 24 nabbed gangsters have confessed to their involvement in murder cases, robberies, kidnapping for ransom and car theft cases. The police teams recovered snatched as well as looted items from their possession, including gold ornaments, mobile phones, laptops and cash.

One of the busted gangs included Afghan nationals identified as Ajab Gul, son of Maula Ahmed; Hayat Khan, son of Gulab Khan; Zia ul Haq, son of Ismail; Nur Ullah, son of Mullah Malham Khan; Nizam Khan, son of M. Afzal; Asmat Ullah, son of Ahmed Khan; Imran, son of Musa, and Shamas Gul, son of Abdul Majeed. These gangsters confessed to murdering former secretary Zar Khaleel and injuring his wife during a robbery at his house in Sector D-12. They also admitted to injuring an officer of armed forces, Ameen Ullah, during a robbery at his house as he offered resistance to them.

Two other gangsters Khalil, son of Muhammad Yaqub, resident of Sector G-6/1-2, and Babar Khan, son of Muhammad Aslam, resident of Sector G-8, admitted to ransacking four houses in area in the jurisdiction of Margalla Police Station. Three television sets, cash and laptops have been recovered so far from them.

The CIA Police teams arrested Asif, son of Rafaq, resident of Nurpur Shahan and Ali Zeb, son of Zar Shah, who were involved in a theft at a general store in Sector G-6/1-2 and three other incidents in the Margalla Police Station jurisdiction. Another accused Bilal Shah, son of Gul Saeed, resident of Kohistan Colony, Sadiqabad, Rawalpindi, was also arrested who used to snatch cash, mobile phones and other valuables at gunpoint.

Two alleged killers identified as Arshad, alias Gora, and Zia ul Haq, son of Abdul Jameel, resident of Afghanistan, have been arrested who assassinated a merchant in the Fruit and Vegetable Market over resistance to them during a robbery attempt.

Three men, who were on the run after arrest of their accomplices involved in kidnapping for ransom cases, have been arrested by the CIA Police team. They kidnapped two citizens from Ramna and Golra area and were demanding millions of rupees for their release. The nabbed kidnappers have been identified as Sherzada, son of Roshan; Imran Khan, son of Abar Khan; Akram, son of Charri Gul, and Shah Jehan, son of Janadal Khan.

The ACLC Police teams succeeded in busting an inter-provincial gang of car thieves and gangsters have been identified as Tasleem alias Lal Kohistani, Naveed Akhtar, Babar Ali and Raees Mir. They have confessed to taking away eight cars from Islamabad, four from Havelian and three each from Abbottabad and Rawalpindi. During preliminary investigation, they said that they had committed several robberies.

Two other car snatchers, Asif, son of Ayub Khan, resident of Chah Sultan, Rawalpindi, and Ali Gul, son of Shehzad Khan, have also been arrested who confessed to snatching two cars from Margalla Police area.
