Taliban formally announce five member committee

PESHAWAR: The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has formally announced a five-member committee to hold talks on its behalf with the government.

TTP spokesman Shahidullah Shahid said that the organizations’s Shura had agreed that Imran Khan, Samiul Haq, Prof Ibraheem, Maulana Abdul Aziz and Mufti Kifyatullah will represent the militants in talk process.

Shahid said that the TTP did not need to raise any objection over the committee constituted by the government. He, however, expressed the hope that the talks would succeed.
