Islamabad police resolve mystery surrounding woman murder




ISLAMABAD: Police have resolved a mystery surrounding murder of a woman who was found dead in Islamabad.

Body of Fehmina Umair was found at a sewerage line in Bani Gala area of the capital. The police said that Maaz Waqar, the alleged killer, had brought the slain woman to Pakistan from Singapore, where they became friends.

The accused had offered the deceased to start a business in Pakistan. The woman returned to Pakistan with gold worth Rs5 million. However, upon return from Singapore, Waqar abducted Fehmina and demanded Rs 200 million ransom from her family.

The police said that the accused along with an accomplice strangled the girl to death and dumped the body in Bani Gala area of the city.

The police said that the victim had two children back in Singapore. The police have also recovered a car, which was used in the crime.
