Islamabad standoff: Sikandar’s wife released

ISLAMABAD: The wife of an Islamabad gunman, who held the city hostage for several hours on August 15, was released on bail from Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail on Wednesday.  Kanval, wife of Sikandar Hayat, was arrested after the end of dramatic stand-off between her husband and Islamabad police. She was produced before anti-terrorism court, which later ordered her release after payment of surety bonds of Rs200, 000. The accused was handed over to Sikandar’s brother Muhammad Hayat.
