Talks process with Taliban now meaningless: Khursheed

SUKKUR: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah has said the talks with the Taliban have lost its utility in the wake of recent terror related incidentsin Karachi and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will have to take decision as a leader now.

He said this while talking to media men here at Sukkar airport on Friday. He held that safeguarding the life and property of people is responsibility of the government.He stressed: “We should not run after talks now. Talks process has lost its meaning due to the terror incidents took place in Karachi in the recent few days, he held. Nawaz Sharif will have to take decision as a statesman now, he added.

Talks of the government with the Taliban from a weak position will be harmful, he cautioned. Is any room left more to hold talks with the Taliban now, he questioned. People want peace, he underlined.
