Gojra SHO accused of releasing dacoit
From Our Correspondent
MALAKWAL: Villagers have accused Gojra SHO Saifullah Ranjha of releasing a dacoit.
They told The News that two dacoits, including Imdad Hussain, were looting motorcyclists and car riders near Jalalabad village on Sargodha Road when they tried to overpower them. They said that Nasir Iqbal, one of the dacoits, was injured in the scuffle with the dacoits. They alleged that the police had later arrested Imdad, but Gojra SHO Saifulla Ranjha released him after receiving bribe. They said that they had submitted an application to the Gojra SHO, but he did not take any action. They appealed to the chief minister, the IGP Punjab and the Gujranwala RPO to take notice of the injustice.
When contacted, SHO Saifullah Ranjha denied the charges and said that Imdad was not involved in the incident. He said that in fact Imdad’s servant had looted the people. He said that they were investigating the matter, but the victims had not still approached them.
