KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Sunday called upon Sindh government to make Mirpur Khas and Nawabshah municipal corporations like Larkana.
In a statement, MQM’s Rabita Committee said two parallel local body systems have been introduced in Sindh, dividing the province on linguistic grounds.
It said that a notification issued by the Sindh government on local body elections is contrary to the bill passed by the assembly.
The party also raised objections about announcing Qasimabad a separate municipal committee. It said that historically and geographically Qasimabad was a UC of Hyderabad.
