Seven killed, 15 hurt as blast hits Jaffar Express in Balochistan
DERA MURAD JAMALI: A blast hit Jaffar Express near Dera Murad Jamali town of Balochistan on Monday, killing seven passengers and injuring at least 15 others besides damaging three coaches,
According to SAMAA correspondent the explosion took place inside the train when it reached near Shori railway station in Balochistan’s Naseerabad district.
The train was going to Quetta from Rawalpindi.
Police, rescue teams and district administration authorities rushed to the blast site and initiated rescue operations.
Three coaches of the train were overturned in the powerful explosion which police said was cause by a remote-controlled IED, damaging the track and creating a four feet deep crater.
The dead and injured were shifted to civil hospital Quetta.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Balochistan Dr. Abdul Malik took notice of the incident and sought a report in this regard from higher authorities. He expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of lives and ordered all out medical treatment for those injured.
Minister Railway Khawaja Saad Rafiq also condemned the attack on passenger train and termed it a ‘cowardly act of miscreants’.
