SHO gets 2-year jail term for using explosive-laden car
FAISALABAD: A senior police officer escaped from courtroom after he was sentenced to two years in prison for using a seized explosive-laden vehicle.
According to reports, SHO Rana Asif seized a suspicious vehicle in a raid few months back and kept it for his personal use. He came to know about explosives hidden in the car after he took the vehicle to a service center.
The SHO tried to portray it as a new recovery, but he was eventually caught lying.
An anti-terrorism court (ATC) today sentenced him to two years in prison and imposed a Rs200, 000 fine. On hearing the verdict, the SHO escaped from the courtroom.
Later, the court summoned SSP Operation on October 23.
