Student groups clash over Valentine’s Day in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Two student organisations clashed over Valentine’s Day celebrations at a local university here on Friday.

The clash took place between a group at the university which was celebrating Valentine’s Day and another observing Haya Day (modest day).

The police were called in to bring the situation under control but were pelted with stones by angry students. There were reports of students firing at police.

Police said one student group burnt the hostel rooms of the other.
