Gilani joins NAB probe in NICL scam through lawyer

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has finally succeeded in forcing former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to cooperate with the country’s premier anti-corruption body in a multi-billion NICL scam.

The former prime minister is facing investigation for his alleged involvement in the National Insurance Corporation Limited scam. The Supreme Court held marathon hearings into the scandal, pressuring the government to take the culprits to task.

Gilani who has been refusing to appear before the NAB, claiming his immunity, has now apparently succumbed to the pressure by joining the probe through his lawyer.

The NAB has applauded Gilani’s decision to extend his cooperation in the investigation.
