TTP team may go to Waziristan for consultation
ISLAMABAD: The next round of talks between the TTP and the government would depend on the TTP pronouncement that it would not resort to terrorism as it did in Karachi otherwise there would be no more talks.
The TTP talk committee coordinator Yusuf Shah told The News he has telephoned the TTP political shura in Miranshah to inform him about the atmosphere and outcome of the meeting. He said, “We can talk to the TTP on telephone about the next meeting but if it was necessary we can again fly to the North Waziristan Agency in next few days.”
He said the next round of talks would certainly take place but after a positive response from the TTP to the two queries.Sources said the TTP spokesman was told that there was no going back for both parties from their stated positions.
A government committee member had told the TTP that if they do not utilise the ‘opportunity’ to make peace with the authorities, common people would come out of their homes with sticks and whatever weapons they possess to fight with them.
