The man said his wife was kidnapped on February 4 this month after he visited Pulrah Police Station for the registration of a case against the accused. He, however, alleged that the police were not entertaining his complaint against their colleague.

Abdullah said the SHO was suspended when he approached Deputy Inspector General of Police, Hazara Range, Akhtar Hayat Khan Gandapur, who ordered the district police officer of Mansehra to do so.

“I want justice and the registration of FIR as placing the SHO under suspension will not help readdress my grievances,” he said. When contacted, Maroof Khan said he had not been suspended, but transferred after Abdullah approached the DIG. He said he was innocent and did not have relations with the woman, adding he had not kidnapped her.
