
KARAK: At least 15 people were killed and many others sustained injuries when a Peshawar-bound passenger bus, which started its journey from Dera Ismael Khan ran into a truck near Karak on Indus Highway.
According to initial reports the tragedy struck after the coach collided head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction, however most of the deaths were caused after three compressed natural gas (CNG) cylinders, fitted on the top of the bus, exploded.
According to eyewitnesses the accident triggered an explosive fire, which left the bus completely burnt out.
Rescue teams are busy shifting the dead and the injured to nearby hospitals.
